GAGO (Minister for Employment, Higher Education and Skills, Minister for Science and Information Economy, Minister for the Status of Women, Minister for Business Services and Consumers): I am advised: Government is generally not the end user of the types of technologies that the start-ups are generating, and as yet government businesses have not commissioned or used the services of start-ups at the bioscience hub. Government promotes the South Australian high-tech sector through various channels, and many bioscience hub-based companies have benefited through the generation of private sector interest leading to investment, sales and partnerships.
