This bill will better reflect the current practice and make the administration effective and accountable for enhancing community safety in the delivery of our youth justice services. However, the concept of the youth justice administration bill was developed by the former minister for communities and social inclusion. As I am advised, a significant consultation was undertaken to inform him of the context and objectives of the proposed legislation.
