Having said that, depending on how the report is made, particularly in regional areas, it may be okay to organise a time which is both suitable to the person making the complaint and the officer involved. Secondly, in the case where a person presents themselves, the police have advised me they will make the necessary arrangements to make sure that person is interviewed in a private way and that will, as I said, vary from station to station, but, importantly, they understand the importance of doing so.
