          <inserted>That three months' leave of absence be granted to the member for Fisher, Hon. R.B. Such, on account of ill health.</inserted>

        <text continued="true" id="201409175209490611ce4ae990000170">I had the opportunity to visit Mr Such on Monday evening, and he asked me to make this request of the parliament. Mr Such is, of course, battling a serious illness, and it was pleasing to see that he was still waging that battle in a very determined fashion. I certainly wish him and his wife well in what must be a very difficult time for their family. He has made this request of the house, and I commend it to the house.</text>

          <by role="member" id="1804">Ms CHAPMAN (Bragg—Deputy Leader of the Opposition) (12:01):</by>  I indicate on behalf of the opposition that similarly we understand that the request has been forthcoming from the member for Fisher, and we support the Premier's motion to allow for a further three months' leave from the parliament without the consequences that would otherwise flow. I would certainly hope that this will be supported by the two Independents in the house so that it will be completely unanimous for this to pass. We join the Premier in wishing Mr Such a full and prompt recovery.</text>
