When did the Parent Complaint Unit initiate an investigation into the failure of the teacher to comply with the mandatory reporting requirements under the Children's Protection Act?</text>

RANKINE (Wright—Minister for Education and Child Development, Minister for Multicultural Affairs) (14:12):</by>  I don't see anywhere in the letter that was sent by the parents that they were making a complaint about a teacher. They mention the two offences and the age of the daughter and the offender. They say she reported it to the school on both occasions and, as I said yesterday, the school claims it was unaware of the 2011 event.</text>

          <inserted>The investigation so far has been unsuccessful in finding any evidence that these assaults were reported to Families SA by the school. This is put up as a statement of fact. The school did not contact us at any time even though [their daughter] had given them permission to do so.</inserted>

        <text continued="true" id="20130925dc9866fa1cc8492080000318">So, the letter doesn't contain, as far as I can see, a request for an investigation by the Parent Complaint Unit. The Parent Complaint Unit did, however, respond to the parents on 4 June and answered their query about mandatory reporting requirements and provided a contact number for the Families SA customer service manager, as was requested.</text>
