          <by role="member" id="3115">The Hon. C.C. FOX (Bright—Minister for Transport Services, Minister Assisting the Minister for the Arts):</by>  I am advised:</text>
        <text id="201304097f6edb1fb9f44acf90000218">The number of road worthiness vehicles inspections did not increase in 2011-12 compared to the previous year. The increase in fee revenue was driven by a contribution of factors including:</text>
        <text id="201304097f6edb1fb9f44acf90000219">
          <item sublevel="1" bullet="true">The annual indexation increase of 2.9 per cent for inspection fees made under the Road Traffic (Miscellaneous) Regulations 1999;</item>
        </text>
        <text id="201304097f6edb1fb9f44acf90000220">
          <item sublevel="1" bullet="true">A variation of activity levels in the mix of inspection types performed with a bias towards higher fee inspections (i.e. an increase in the number of heavy vehicle defects performed in 2011-12 that attracted a higher inspection fee and therefore resulted in increased revenue); and</item>

          <item sublevel="1" bullet="true">The introduction of a prepaid booking fee to ensure inspection appointments are kept which in turn reduced waiting times for inspections</item>
