          <by role="member" id="1812">The Hon. J.W. WEATHERILL:</by>  —we are also proposing that the Liquor and Gambling Commissioner have the opportunity to police these codes. There will also be a consequence for licences. This will become part of the licence, so venues that do not do the right thing will be closed down.</text>
        <text id="2012101718b7a06736bb4080a0000464">I was very gratified to see the police commissioner announce the efforts associated with the new legislative powers that we have given him to bar patrons from premises. There is a substantial increase in the number of barrings that are occurring, and that is an important new tool given to police to assist them to manage behaviour in and around venues.</text>
        <text id="2012101718b7a06736bb4080a0000465">I would like to thank all those who have brought us to this day, to Nat Cook and her Sammy D Foundation, to Doug Lindsley and the efforts he has made. The efforts we are making today and the further things we will do stand testament to the love of these parents for their children. They do not want to see this happen to anyone else. They could have dealt with this in a range of ways, but they are dealing with this issue in the most constructive way possible.</text>
