          <by role="member" id="614">The Hon. J.M. RANKINE (Wright—Minister for Police, Minister for Correctional Services, Minister for Emergency Services, Minister for Road Safety, Minister for Multicultural Affairs):</by>  The Minister for Social Housing has been advised:</text>
        <text id="2012051576213e6b4dd74762b0000376">As at 30 October 2010 there were 926 vacant tenantable, and 1,005 vacant untenantable, public housing dwellings out of a total stock of more than 44,000 properties.</text>
        <text id="2012051576213e6b4dd74762b0000377">Tenantable properties are those under offer to a new tenant or undergoing maintenance works prior to allocation.</text>
        <text id="2012051576213e6b4dd74762b0000378">Untenantable properties may be undergoing major maintenance or being held for redevelopment and other purposes that do not make them suitable for allocation to tenants in the near future.</text>
        <text id="2012051576213e6b4dd74762b0000379">Community housing data is only collected on an annual basis and there were 268 vacant dwellings as at the end of June 2010. This figure includes both tenantable and untenantable properties.</text>
