          <by role="member" id="1807">Dr McFETRIDGE: </by> Today in question time the minister for Aboriginal affairs, in response to a question from the Leader of the Opposition, quoted me and indicated that I was not in favour of subsidising transport on the APY lands. That is quite incorrect. She quoted from <term>Hansard</term> of 12 October 2010 where I did actually say:</text>

          <inserted>I am the first to admit that subsidies are a short-term solution for a long-term problem—</inserted>

          <inserted>...but we clearly continue to subsidise private transport operators in our bus services here.</inserted>

        <text continued="true" id="2011091539cd591d29074ad190000736">There is no way that I was not encouraging this government and this minister to use subsidies to assist in reducing food prices on the APY lands.</text>
