Has the Attorney-General asked the Solicitor-General why the MacPherson report draft findings regarding the Burnside council recommend criminal charges but the Solicitor-General found, and I quote from the Attorney-General's statement, that he did not believe that there was any criminal conduct revealed in the material he saw? RAU: However, if there was a matter before me where there was a view expressed by Mr MacPherson, the bulk of whose career has been acting as an auditor-general and Martin Hinton QC, who is actually the Solicitor-General, in general terms I would prefer to take advice from the Solicitor-General.
