However, what I am able to report at this point is that Families SA Child Abuse Report Line received 5,586 notifications of suspected child abuse and neglect during the period 1 January to 31 March, 2010. Of this number: 263 were assessed as Tier 1 3,289 were assessed as Tier 2 1,067 were assessed as Tier 3 The remaining 967 notifications were categorised as extra-familial abuse, or protective factors in place.
