          <by role="member" id="633">The Hon. A. KOUTSANTONIS (West Torrens—Minister for Correctional Services, Minister for Gambling, Minister for Youth, Minister for Volunteers, Minister Assisting the Minister for Multicultural Affairs):</by>  I am advised:</text>
        <text id="200906176cb3561ae93b41dd80000783">The member for Heysen has asked several questions about an incident where correctional officers were seen at a family restaurant with a prisoner in handcuffs.</text>
        <text id="200906176cb3561ae93b41dd80000784">The former Minister for Correctional Services responded via email to the member of the public that wrote to the Premier about the incident. The former Minister advised that a full investigation into the matter was being undertaken by the Department for Correctional Services.</text>
        <text id="200906176cb3561ae93b41dd80000785">The Department's investigation has now been completed and the subsequent report was very recently forwarded to the Crown for advice.</text>
        <text id="200906176cb3561ae93b41dd80000786">Subsequently, the Department is currently awaiting the advice from the Crown to determine if the actions of the staff involved were in breach of procedures and the Public Sector Management Act 1995, and if so, to recommend and determine appropriate disciplinary action against the officers.</text>
        <text id="200906176cb3561ae93b41dd80000787">The current contract for Prisoner Movement and In-Court Management expires at the end of June 2009 and it would be inappropriate for me to comment on the status of any contract negotiations that may be in progress.</text>
