WRIGHT (Lee—Minister for Police, Minister for Emergency Services, Minister for Recreation, Sport and Racing):</by> The State Government has let a contract for the development of the State Aquatic Centre and GP Plus at Marion. The contract does not include the development of housing at the Domain site, railway station or any other location.</text>
<text id="200906023f7d756e442043d2b0000460">The tender process used to select Candetti Constructions Pty Ltd was based on a selected tender process. The three companies invited to submit a tender were Candetti Constructions, Baulderstone and Built Environs who were the builders in the three teams previously considered for the procurement process.</text>
<text id="200906023f7d756e442043d2b0000461">The three parties were initially invited to submit proposals in accordance with recognised Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) principles and these submissions were assessed. This initial assessment involved consideration of the nominated design teams, construction teams, associated fees, builders profits and some limited preliminaries. Comments from the parties about their ability to meet the required timeframes for completion of construction were also considered.</text>
<text id="200906023f7d756e442043d2b0000462">In parallel with this process, the State Government also developed a reference design and a cost plan for the Aquatic Centre, which was provided to all three parties to further explore time and cost parameters. Further information was then sought from all three parties on these aspects.</text>
