Will the minister explain on whose behalf Mr Bolkus was making representations when he made representations about the SAJC to the minister? Was it the stormwater authority or some other party? CONLON (Elder—Minister for Transport, Minister for Infrastructure, Minister for Energy) (14:38): What this person has failed to understand I do not understand. He has never made representations on the part of the stormwater authority. The only small item ever on the stormwater authority board, he absented himself and resigned shortly afterwards. He was employed by the SAJC and, lo and behold, he came on behalf of the SAJC with the SAJC and spoke about the SAJC's interest. That is what I would expect someone to do if I was paying them as well. Can I say that this is not an unusual outcome for people involved in that sort of industry. In fact, a demonstration of the quality of his work was how Mr Smith and Mr Downer sought him out as such a worthy partner. Forget your smears and your innuendo. If you have something you want to say, have the courage, go outside. This is why they want an ICAC. They want an ICAC so they have another vehicle for a smear, because that is all they do. They do not want to talk about polls; they do not want to talk about Frome; they do not want to talk about the fact that South Australia is going better than it has ever gone and the Liberals are going worse. They do not want to talk about that, but when the going gets tough, they get smeary—and that is all there is to it.
