J.M. RANKINE (Wright—Minister for Families and Communities, Minister for Northern Suburbs, Minister for Housing, Minister for Ageing, Minister for Disability): (a)	The number of households on the Category 1 waiting list for Housing SA accommodation varies each month. On average, in 2007-08 there were 2890 households in Category 1 waiting for Housing SA accommodation. Please note however that these figures include both new applicants and current residents seeking transfer. (b)	The number of vacant houses owned by the SA Housing Trust (Housing SA) varies each month. On average, 1586 homes are vacant in any given month. This represents approximately 3.5% of total stock. (c)	Common reasons for these vacancies are: Properties being reinstated for reallocation, Properties identified for demolition through urban renewal programs, Properties being sold through the Affordable Homes Program.
