Why has the government failed to keep its promise to help police fight crime by fast tracking amendments to the Firearms Act? On 23 June this year, police minister Holloway said:</text>

          <inserted>It is a well-known fact that guns and other weapons are key instruments of violence in bikie gang culture. That is why this government is fast tracking a number of amendments to the Firearms Act.</inserted>
