T.R. KENYON (Newland—Minister for Recreation, Sport and Racing, Minister for Road Safety, Minister for Veterans' Affairs, Minister Assisting the Premier with South Australia's Strategic Plan, Minister Assisting the Minister for Employment, Training and Further Education): The Motor Accident Commission provided the University of South Australia $300,000 in 2009-10 to provide a trial and evaluation of Dedicated Short Range Communication (DSRC) equipment in vehicles. The on-road element of this trial occurred in 2010-11. A breakdown of this amount is included below: MAC DSRC Demonstration Trial Design, System Preparation, Integration and Testing $92,000 Roadside Equipment $21,000 Onboard Equipment and Installation $71,000 Demonstration Event Days $46,000 Project and Trial Management $35,000 Trial Technical Authority and Support $35,000 Total Cost $300,000 Indirect costs borne by the Department for Transport, Energy and Infrastructure (DTEI) are as follows: DTEI indirect costs Installation of DSRC equipment in ten DTEI SA Government leased light vehicles $1,570 Supply of cable, brackets and installation of DSRC equipment on DTEI building $1,850 Traffic control for DSRC trial launch and on-road demonstration on 25 May 2011 $2,664 GST $608 Total Cost $6,692
