<by role="member" id="1810">Mr RAU (Enfield—Attorney-General, Minister for Justice, Minister for Tourism): </by>I have received this advice:</text>
<text id="201010153b66f5f78d0d486590000161">The overall timeframe target for the finalisation of a complaint will vary according to the level of enquiry or investigation the Police Complaints Authority (the Authority) considers appropriate for the complaint. The three principal levels of enquiry or investigation are: Conciliation, Preliminary Investigation, and Full Investigation. The following timeframe targets apply.</text>
        <text continued="true" id="201010153b66f5f78d0d486590000162">Conciliations</text>
<text id="201010153b66f5f78d0d486590000163">Where a complaint is referred to the Internal Investigation Section for Conciliation the timeframe target for the return of the file to the Authority is four weeks (28 days).</text>
<text id="201010153b66f5f78d0d486590000164">Therefore the overall timeframe target for receipt of the complaint until it is finalised by the Authority is 28 + 28 days, that is 56 days.</text>
        <text continued="true" id="201010153b66f5f78d0d486590000165">Preliminary Investigations</text>
<text id="201010153b66f5f78d0d486590000166">Where a complaint is referred to the Internal Investigation Section for Preliminary Investigation the timeframe target for the return of the file to the Authority is five weeks (35 days).</text>
<text id="201010153b66f5f78d0d486590000167">The overall timeframe target for a complaint that can be finalised on the basis of a Preliminary Investigation is 35 + 28 days, that is 63 days.</text>
        <text continued="true" id="201010153b66f5f78d0d486590000168">Full Investigations</text>
<text id="201010153b66f5f78d0d486590000169">Where a complaint is referred to the Internal Investigation Section for Full Investigation the timeframe target for the return of the file to the Authority is 12 weeks (84 days).</text>
<text id="201010153b66f5f78d0d486590000170">The overall timeframe target from receipt of complaint until it is finalised following a Full Investigation is 84 + 28 days, that is 112 days.</text>
