          <by role="member" id="3123">The Hon. A. PICCOLO (Light—Minister for Communities and Social Inclusion, Minister for Social Housing, Minister for Disabilities, Minister for Youth, Minister for Volunteers):</by>  I have been advised:</text>
        <text id="20131115d2d7e4df59e24c71a0000355">1.&amp;#x9;The Volunteer Emergency Recovery Information System (VERIS) is part of the Management of Spontaneous Volunteers Program which is managed by the State Recovery Office. VERIS is the database that records volunteers willing to undertake tasks to support people affected by disaster.</text>
        <text id="20131115d2d7e4df59e24c71a0000356">The system is only activated following an event and volunteers are managed accordingly. Maintenance requirements include processes and procedures revision, training and exercises for relevant personnel and engagement with partner organisations.</text>
        <text id="20131115d2d7e4df59e24c71a0000357">2.&amp;#x9;The State Recovery Office maintains relationships with a number of non-government organisations who will assist with staff and volunteers in deploying a volunteer effort when required. Supporting agreements have been made between State Recovery Office and:</text>

          <item sublevel="1" bullet="true">Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) Australia Ltd;</item>
        </text>
        <text id="20131115d2d7e4df59e24c71a0000359">
          <item sublevel="1" bullet="true">Watch SA—Neighbourhood Watch;</item>
        </text>
        <text id="20131115d2d7e4df59e24c71a0000360">
          <item sublevel="1" bullet="true">Lions Clubs; and</item>
        </text>
        <text id="20131115d2d7e4df59e24c71a0000361">
          <item sublevel="1" bullet="true">Uniting Communities.</item>
        </text>
        <text continued="true" id="20131115d2d7e4df59e24c71a0000362">A memorandum of understanding also exists between the South Australian State Emergency Service and Conservation Volunteers Australia, which outlines their commitment to assisting the State Recovery Office in coordinating a volunteer program during recovery.</text>
