WEATHERILL (Cheltenham—Premier, Treasurer, Minister for State Development, Minister for the Public Sector, Minister for the Arts): I have been advised of the following: A commitment to job security has been included in the enterprise agreement that covers salaried employees in the public sector. The South Australian Public Sector Wages Parity Enterprise Agreement: Salaried 2012 (the enterprise agreement) was approved by the Industrial Relations Commission of South Australia on 23 October 2012 and nominally expires on 30 June 2014. The enterprise agreement provides security of employment for the life of the agreement, meaning that the government's 'no forced redundancy policy' will apply to the employees covered during the life of that agreement. The agreement only applies to the parties bound by it. Generally these are salaried employees who work in administrative units (i.e. Public Service); SA Health; and various entities specified in the agreement. Attachment A lists 'job security provisions' and the 'protection of existing conditions provisions' in the enterprise agreements that have been approved since June 2012.
